Villa Neroli: BDK Parfums Adds a Nostalgic Fragrance to their Azur Collection

BDK Parfums has released Villa Neroli, a fragrance that is based on the Italian island of Capri. Known for its beauty and unspoiled nature, David Benedek bottled the essence of the island for all to enjoy. As well, Villa Neroli marks the third composition within the Azur collection.

Villa Neroli: The Story

Capri was first discovered by emperor Augustus during the early reign of the Roman Empire. The emperor spent quite a lot of time on the island, frequently treating the land as his own private property. He would go on to build temples, villas, and gardens to improve Capri’s serenity.

Now, the island is a vital sector of the Amalfi coast, a storied waterline that has been the muse for various cult classics. Within Capri’s borders is the Piazza Umberto 1, an infamous public square that is bustling at all hours of the day. However, Benedek chose not to find inspiration from the copious amounts of fine dining, cafes, and luxury shopping.

Instead, the story of Villa Neroli begins in the Mediterranean, where Benedek lived as a child. He found himself fascinated with the bitter orange trees which grew around the villas. It represented joy, optimism, and calmness.

Villa Neroli: The Presentation and Smell

As a tribute to the sea, the fragrance is bottled in glass that has been coated in a blue tint. Its packaging follows the same design as the other two members of the Azur collection. It features a white label and a black, borderline dark grey cap for contrast.

At the top, the fragrance begins the muse of this fragrance: Orange Blossom. This fresh, inviting, and clean accord merges with Neroli to complete a dynamic duo of citrus and floral. Villa Neroli then takes a sharp turn into Bulgarian Rose, Vanilla from Madagascar, and Cistus Labdanum. Finally, the scent concludes with a concoction of Cashmeran, Mousse, and Ambrox.

BDK Parfums Villa Neroli is available in a singular size which is standard for the house. Benedek and his team are charging $173 USD for 100ml of their new fragrance. Does this sound like a scent that suits your needs? Let us know in the comments below.
