Today, Carolina Herrera announced the release of a new fragrance. True Oud, the fifth fragrance addition to the Eastern Treasures line, was inspired by Carolina A. Herrera’s trip to the Middle East and the Arab perfumery traditions passed down by her mother.
Perfumer Jordi Fernandez explored the least known facets of each ingredient. Specifically, its floral features, which he combined with a woody cocktail of base notes that, when bottled, recreate the same nuances as Oud.
“This new unisex fragrance explores the least known facets of oud – its floral features – combining sustainably-grown Oud with 10 other responsibly produced accords to recreate the same nuances as Oud used in the air as incense,” said the brand.
Carolina Herrera Confidential True Oud Notes
The New Fragrance Features floral top notes of Osmanthus, Olive, Saffron and Freesia. As We Dive Into The Heart Notes We find Oud, Myrrh, Jasmine Blossom and Sandalwood. Patchouli, Akigalawood and Musk round out the warm woody base.
The faceted green-to-gold bottle is inspired by the tree that produces the precious essential oil at the heart of this fragrance.
True Oud is Currently Available On Herrera’s Spanish Website. The fragrance is available in a 100ml bottle and is priced at $283 USD. True Oud is concentrated at the Eau de Parfum level and currently, the brand is offering a free, confidentially customized gold ring and jasmine charm in celebration of the release.
