Ormonde Jayne has just unveiled their newest fragrance, introducing Gatsby 22. The well-known perfumer, Linda Pilkington, was influenced by a sense of nostalgia when she came up with this perfume.
Gatsby22, as the name suggests, it is named after the famous literary character from The Great Gatsby, an American novel set in the jazz age. The house suggests that, just like the novel, this perfume was created specifically to celebrate the intricate and stylistic choices in the fashion trends of the jazz culture in the 1920s as well as the general spirit of that time.
The new fragrance is described by the house as confident, edgy and sophisticated, which best summarizes the defining characteristics of the jazz age that it harkens back to, be it fashion, music or art.
“A boisterous burst of Sicilian lemon and bergamot penetrates the senses, followed by Osmanthus, orange blossom and violets to smooth away the sharpness. Notes of vetiver linger on, giving Gatsby 22 true staying power. Wear it anytime, anywhere to make a stylist entrance.” By Ormonde Jayne
Gatsby 22 features top notes of Bergamot, Sicilian Lemon and Pink Pepper, followed by heart notes of Osmanthus, Violet and Orange Blossom, and finally Woody and Earthy base notes of Vetiver, Leather Accord, Tonka Bean, Musk.
Gatsby 22 will be exclusively available in the US and the UK on July 7th, 2022, in 50ml Eau de Parfum for the price of 135 USD.
