The flirty house of Paco Rabanne has announced the release of two flankers, both of which derive from their most popular fragrances for men and women. The younger crowd has always gravitated towards Invictus for its well-received bubblegum sweetness. As well, some describe Paco Rabanne’s Olympea as a fragrance that exudes sexiness and lust.
For men, Invictus Platinum is an aromatic and woody flanker to the original release of Invictus. For women, Olympea Solar is a citrus and floral flanker to the original release of Olympea. Both fragrances have been designed in a very similar fashion to their counterparts.
Platinum features a slightly darker body, with the same chrome exterior. Whereas Solar continues with the same shape, opting for a black and gold colour palette.
Invictus Platinum utilizes the unique top notes of Grapefruit and Mint for an explosive burst of freshness. In the heart are the calming notes of Lavender and Absinthe while the base concludes with Cypress and Patchouli.
Olympea Solar kicks off with the classic citrus pairing of Orange and Mandarin. Then, it moves along towards White Blossoms and Ylang-Ylang in the heart. Finally, Elderflower and Aromatic Herbs wrap up the fragrance.
Invictus and Invictus Platinum share the note of Grapefruit at the top, although Invictus rounds out with Sea Notes and Mandarin. From there, notes of Bay Leaf and Jasmine pair with Ambergris, Guaiac Wood, Oakmoss and Patchouli. Slight similarities between the two although Platinum is seemingly following the fresh path.
The original Olympea uses Water Jasmine and Ginger Flower while sharing Mandarin Orange at the top. Then, Vanilla and Salt combine with Ambergris, Cashmere Wood and Sandalwood. I would be interested to see the similarities between the two as the original release was very well known for its Vanilla accord.
Paco Rabanne Olympea Solar is available in a 30ml and 50ml bottle, while Invictus Platinum is available in a 50ml and 100ml bottle. Both fragrances are equipped with atomizers, with Invictus hiding his in the top of the trophy. Olympea Solar retails for $83 USD or $120 USD depending on the size. Invictus Platinum costs around $93 USD for the 50ml and $122 USD for the 100ml.
