Kologne by Kilian Shield of Protection: Purity, Vitaly and Security
Kilian has announced Kologne by Kilian Shield of Protection, a woody and aromatic fragrance that takes influence from Kilian Hennessy’s opinion on perfumery. “Hennessy sees perfume as a shield of protection from the outside world, emboldening our unconscious desires with a sense of security,” says the Kilian Press Release.
Kologne by Kilian Shield of Protection is packaged in the classic Kilian bottle design. Tall, rectangular and sharp, the bottle exudes luxury and class. Within the great glass walls is a brave purple liquid that is met by speckles that are reminiscent of a starry night. In the centre is a silver plaque with all of the titles and a matching silver cap sitting atop an atomizer.
“Kologne Shield of Protection is his ultimate olfactive expression of this belief. A fragrance for spraying around oneself like an aura of purity and vitality.”
– Kilian Press Release
As mentioned above, the fragrance has an aromatic and woody scent profile. At the top, the fragrance begins with vibrant Green Mandarin, Bitter Orange and a handful of Mint. Down in the heart is a lovely Rosemary, Lemon Petitgrain which is known for its heavenly green and orange blossom profile, and everyone’s favourite, Neroli.
Finally, the fragrance concludes with Cedarwood, Cashmeran and the unique note of the Elixir of Life accord. Quite an interesting accord to add to this fragrance. It has a name that forces the consumer to dwell upon what it could possibly mean. Personally, I’m very curious as to what this is going to smell like.
Kologne by Kilian Shield of Protection is concentrated as an Eau de Parfum, contrary to the title of the fragrance. Beneath the cap is an atomizer, meaning the application process is through sprays and not dabs. Currently, the fragrance is available in select American boutiques and will be available to all in April. Shield of Protection is only available in a 50ml currently and will retail for $250 USD.
