Yves Saint Laurent has released a new fragrance under Le Vestiaire Des Parfum, a private line that seeks to interpret the centrepiece of a wardrobe through scent. Le Vestiaire Des Parfums Babycat is the title of the scent, playing off of the animalistic print found predominantly on their sneakers.
YSL had this to say about fragrance muse, “A bold and timeless couture pattern known for its infinite power of seduction. Versatile, animalistic and endlessly chic, Saint Laurent’s iconic pattern become a wardrobe essential that Anthony Vaccarello perpetuates.”
The entirety of the Le Vestiaire Des Parfums line is bottled in a super sleep, rectangular shape which is encapsulated in a basic white box. Babycat is no different than the rest, finding its whiskey-coloured liquid within the confines of a clear glass bottle. At the top is a black cap which is adorned with the YSL logo and is ribbed to match the texture of their leather goods.
At the top, Le Vestiaire Des Parfums Babycat opens with three different types of essence: Pink Pepper, Black Pepper and Elemi. In the heart is the resin and essence of Olibanum and a Saffron accord. Finally, it concludes with Vanilla, Cedarwood and a Suede accord.
“A sensual reinterpretation of this couture icon revisiting the emblematic woody family and its powerful longlasting- trail. Babycat twists the animalic subtly warm suede accord with a suave sensual vanilla, for a sulphurous yet sophisticated scent. A feline pattern, a wild fragrance for the unpredictable. Living at the edge of life,” is how the scent is described on the companies website.
Le Vestiaire Des Parfums Babycat is available on the company’s official Middle Eastern website, although it is currently out of stock. Only a 125ml bottle is currently available, although the brand is known for releasing a 75ml bottle down the line. Currently, the fragrance retails around $300 USD for 125ml.
