Issey Miyake is set to release a masculine and feminine flanker to the house’s most prominent scents. L’Eau D’Issey and L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme are for women and men respectively, both of which have been around for over 25 years.
The Japanese house has released L’Eau D’Issey Eau & Magnolia for women and L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme Eau & Cèdre for men. Both fragrances feature bottles that are made from 20% recycled PCR glass, along with a friendly anti UV coating.
Within the bottles are vegan fragrances that contain a high amount of natural ingredients. 85% in Eau & Magnolia and 91% in Eau & Cèdre to be exact. Finally, all of the ingredients have either been sourced responsibly to benefit the producing communities or successfully upcycled.
L’Eau D’Issey Eau & Magnolia has been reimagined in a bottle that portrays a sustainable vibe. The cap is made of ash wood and is one solid piece. Contrary to the original release, the body of the bottle is completely see-through.
L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme Eau & Cèdre follows a similar trend. The ash wood cap has been stained green and is also completely see-through in the body.
L’Eau D’Issey Eau & Magnolia utilizes top notes of Neroli, Bergamot and Aquozone. The latter is an innovative and aquatic molecule. Below in the heart lies an intriguing Magnolia and Rose. Finally, the fragrance concludes with classic notes of Sandalwood and Musk.
Originally, L’Eau D’Issey had many more notes contribute to its vintage floral accord. At the top was Lotus, Melon, Freesia, Rose, Calone and Cyclamen. Down in the heart were Lily, Water Peony and Carnation. Musk, Tuberose, Exotic Woods, Osmanthus, Cedar, Amber and Sandalwood concluded the scent.
L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme Eau & Cèdre teases the senses with notes of Grapefruit, Cardamom and Cypress at the top. In the heart are Cedarwood and Calone while the fragrance concludes with Vetiver and Patchouli.
Comparatively, the new rendition of this fragrance pour homme utilizes a more modern citrus accord. Back in 1994, Yuzu, Lemon, Bergamot and Mandarin made up the citrus accords. Furthemore, Patchouli is the only remaining note that is not found in the original release.
As of right now, Issey Miyake has not announced a release date, pricing or fragrance sizes for L’Eau D’Issey Eau & Magnolia and L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme Eau & Cèdre.
