Penhaligon’s has been scouring the Earth and examining the many different and exotic landscapes to find new inspirations and individualistic and cultural differences for each locale and capture the magic of said location by cooking up a perfume that best encapsulate it. For their next project, their eyes are fixed on Petra in Jordan. The house announced Legacy of Petra which will be released on September 1st 2022.
During the creation process of the legacy of petra, the perfumer, Nathalie Gracia-Cetto, had the historically significant Petra in mind. she thought the image of stone temples under the warm sun surrounded by the shimmering sands. Petra proved to be a perfect choice thanks to the plethora of notes that were used in Legacy of Petra to reflect that awe factor.
Legacy of Petra Fragrance notes:
Bergamot, Green Tea, Fennel, Amber, Vanilla, Liquorice, Myrrh, Benzoin, Belambre wood, and Labdanum.
The oriental nature of Legacy of Petra is further intensified with the amber and woody notes with a meticulous focus on myrrh and licorice. Other notes are also used and have equal importance as well, from the bright Bergamot to smoky frankincense, creating a truly diverse and bewildering scent.
The bottle design itself has this vintage look to it. It is reminiscent of old glass containers used in old times with a rope-wrapped cap. The fragrance’s and brand’s name is written in a font style reminiscent of the font that was used in silent movies. The name is also written inside an arabesque-inspired art on the bottle, further highlighting the unique and oriental feel of this fragrance release.
The new fragrance will soon be available for sampling on the official website and will be available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.
