House Guerlain has just unveiled their upcoming fragrance release. This summer, the house is introducing L’Heure Bleue, Bleu Klein anniversary edition, as a form of homage to L’Heure Bleue, the well-received and globally acknowledged perfume, as well as one of the most romantic fragrance creations that the house has ever introduced. It is a fragrance that stood its ground for almost more than a hundred years.
In honor of its 110th anniversary, Guerlain is celebrating this iconic fragrance with a limited edition release as a collaborative effort between the house and the talented artist, Yves Klein. This time, L’Heure Bleue will arrive in a custom-made bottle design that reflects this new addition of the blue color with Bleu Klein, as an homage to Yves Klein and his innovative and refining touches. Fans are expected to receive a more colorful version of L’Heure Bleue that feels more luxurious and distinctive.
As its name suggests, L’Heure Bleue’s aim was to capture the atmosphere and feel of a particular time of day, right before dusk, when sky is at its most beautiful state, displaying shades of dark blue which captivates onlookers. Bleu Klein symbolizes a walk along the Seine River, surrounded by the magnificence of Parisian architecture. This fragrance successfully blends a number of feminine traits, such as delicacy and sensuality that has proved its relevance over these many years, and even now.
L’Heure Bleue 110th Anniversary Edition will be available in extrait form, providing fans of the original scent with the richest and most prestigious formula and packaging that L’Heure Bleue has ever seen throughout its multiple iterations and reinterpretations over the years.
For this unprecedented occasion, thirty L’Heure Bleue bottles were modified with the Bleu Klein touch, using special binders to adequately mix the notes while preserving the velvety texture of this iconic scent, further protecting this Guerlain legacy. This new project acts as a union between art and craftsmanship; even the bottle boxes are made by hand, giving them this special care and attention to details.
Regarding the bottle design itself, the design retains the inverted heart-shaped cap from the original 1912 release, but envelopes the whole bottle in prominent dark blue while stripping the bottle down from the golden ornaments that decorated the original release bottle to stress a simpler and more modern appeal.
