Dolce & Gabbana has announced the release of Light Blue Italian Love, a set of masculine and feminine fragrances. The new releases flank the original fragrances of the 2000s, adding a more modern twist on some of D&G’s most popular releases.
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Italian Love Pour Femme is a feminine release, bottled in the classic rectangular styling that we see in the original and subsequent flankers. The juice itself is a rather deep blue which contrasts the clear exterior quite nicely. At the top, the cap takes influence from the original release, this time, facelifted with a stark white paint job.
Italian Love Pour Femme begins with a crisp Green Apple note amidst zesty Calabrian Lemon at the top. Down in the heart are two florals: Jasmine Sambac and an innocent, White Rose accord. Finally, it concludes with ravishing Amber, Virginia Cedar and White Musk.
In 2001, Dolce & Gabbana released the now infamous Light Blue. It blew away fragrance lovers, slowly becoming everyone’s go-to summer scent. At the top, the fragrance utilized the same top as Italian Love, adding Cedar and Bellflower. The original release has the same heart as the new flanker, with the addition of a unique Bamboo accord. Finally, the pair conclude with the same base.
More recently, Light Blue Intense made waves in the fragrance community. In comparison, Intense and Italian Love share the same top and base, replacing Rose with Marigold in the heart.
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Italian Love Pour Homme matches the aesthetic of Pour Femme with a pure white cap and a bottle hue that is just as deep as its counterpart. The bottle shape takes direct influence from the original release, beginning with a flat bottom and progressively rounding on top.
Italian Love Pour Homme opens with a citrus party consisting of Italian Bergamot and Grapefruit. Below, Violet Leaves pairs with two ambiguous accords of Green Notes and Ozonic Marine Notes. Finally, the fragrance concludes with dashing Vetiver and Patchouli and a healthy dose of Musk and Guaiac Wood.
Originally released in 2008, Light Blue Pour Homme captured the essence of all the great citrus scents, encapsulating it and releasing beauty into the public. The fragrance began with a core of Grapefruit, Bergamot, Sicilian Mandarin and Juniper. Pepper, Rosemary and Brazilian Rosewood added depth to the astonishing citrus accords while Musk, Incense and Oakmoss concluded this great fragrance.
Just a few years ago, Light Blue Intense came to fruition. Arguably the best summer fragrance for men right now, the scent took over the community, receiving attention from everybody and their mother. It opened with Grapefruit and Mandarin Orange at the top, then subtly dove into Sea Water and Juniper in the heart. Finally, the scent concluded with Musk and Amberwood.
Light Blue Italian Love Pour Homme and Pour Femme are both available in 100ml bottle sizes. Pour Homme is offered in a 50ml as well, along with a 25ml Pour Femme. Italian Love Pour Homme retails for $80 USD for a 50ml and $106 USD for a 100ml. Pour Femme will run you around $66 USD for the 25ml and $131 USD for 100ml.
