Got Coffee: Maison Tahite’s 4 New Coffee Fragrances
Coffee is one of the most beloved beverages in existence. Many of us count on the elixir from the heavens to start our days. You can have it straight black, with cream and honey, or frothed up into a latte, it doesn’t matter if you get that java buzz on. The fragrance market does tend to lack when it comes to good coffee scents, so when a niche house that specializes in gourmands, like Maison Tahite, announces some coffee-centered scents it makes us perk up our noses. Coffee Bomb, Cafe Gourmand, Velvet Coffee, and I_Ristretto are the 4 new releases to get your daily fix of joe.
Velvet Coffee:
Perfumer: Delphine Lebeau
Notes:
Top: Cardamom and Cocoa
Heart: Benzoin, Virginia Cedarwood, Coffee, Carrot, and Orris
Base: Album Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Leatherwood, Patchouli, Haitian Vetiver, Vanilla, and Ambroxan
A rich and milky indulgence of creamy sandalwood with coffee and a touch of cardamom. This one appears to be inspired by a mocha if I had to guess. A rich and silky brew of coffee, milk, and a touch of cocoa. Sometimes when the bitter cold moves in, you have a hard time deciding between coffee and hot chocolate, so I certainly appreciate the person who created the mocha. Thank you for your valuable contribution to cure my indecisiveness.
I_Ristretto:
Perfumer: Paul Guerlain
Notes:
Top: Arabica Coffee and Pink Pepper
Heart: Iris and Violet
Base: Indonesian Patchouli and Cashmeran
A ristretto is a shot of espresso with a finer grind and it’s more concentrated. Strong and bitter, Arabica coffee fuses with powdery iris and the darkness of patchouli to enhance the aspect of this well-loved drink. Warm and soft cashmeran flirts with the bitterness of coffee to create a warm and cozy fragrance that is sure to feel like your favorite sweater on a chilly day.
Cafe Gourmand:
Perfumer: Stephanie Backouche
Notes:
Top: Saffron and Milky Notes
Heart: Creamy Hazelnut, Patchouli, and Arabica Coffee
Base: Vetiver, Sandalwood, Musk, and Cade
A silky smooth elixir of hazelnut coffee and smoky woods. A soft and radiant touch of sandalwood adds to the sensuality of the perfume that envelopes you in a warm hug. Coffee, a slight puff of smoke, and the warmth of hazelnut… What could be better on a brisk autumn day?
Coffee Bomb:
Perfumer: Arturetto Landi
Notes:
Top- Saffron, Cardamom, Black Pepper, Milk, and Coffee
Heart- Iris, Heliotrope, Jasmine, and Rose
Base- Vanilla, Cacao, Frankincense, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Tonka, Leather, Musk, and Treemoss
What is better than a fabled Arabian night? One with coffee, of course! Inspired by perfumer Arturetto Landi’s trips to Arabic countries, Coffee Bomb is a fusion of Italian and Arabic styled coffees. Sweet and creamy Italian coffee merges with a Middle Eastern flair of rose, jasmine, frankincense, and cardamom. An absolute treasure for our senses that is sure to delight fans of both styles of perfumery.
All 4 of the Italian brand’s releases are Eau de Parfums and come in 100ml amber colored jars that reflect the warmness of each scent. A simple minimalistic white label with a cylindrical cap adorns the potion-like bottle that will only set you back 98€ each.
When a company releases one coffee scent, it creates a buzz(pun intended). Maison Tahite has released 4 at once and I am not sure that the excitement can be contained. Italians have created so many decadent coffee drinks and it reassures me that this line will be a pleasure to behold.
