Recently, Nina Ricci released Nina Soleil, a citrus gourmand fragrance for women. Nina Soleil is the new addition to the house’s long list of fragrances, packaged in the infamous apple-shaped bottle.
Nina Ricci packaged the new fragrance in a bright yellow bottle that screams summertime. Similar to other releases, the bottle is shaped like an apple, including the edible portion, the stem and leaves. On one side of the sphere is a bite mark, depicted with diagonal white lines strung across the indent.
Inside the bottle lies a fragrance that has a top note set of Mandarin and Bergamot. Below in the heart are notes of Chantilly and Gardenia, while the base concludes with Vanilla and Cedar.
“Let yourself be seduced by this fragrance with gourmet notes of tasty whipped cream, coated in citrus notes and enhanced with the floral intensity of gardenia,” described the press release. The house would also describe the Vanilla and Cedar touch as “Voluptuous,” declaring this as a fresh scent that all women need.
Nina Soleil is a flanker of Nina, originally released in 2006. The pair share the singular note of Cedar although they both utilize citrus accords and florals in the top and heart. Nina featured Amalfi Lemon and Lime, also using Peony and Datura in the base.
Based on the note breakdown, Nina Ricci Les Sorbets de Nina is fairly similar to Soleil. The flanker from 2019 had Lemon and Mandarin as its citrus component, using Praline for a gourmand touch. The pair do share the common note of Gardenia in the heart.
