On a Date by Maison Margiela: Another Flash From The Past

Maison Margiela is closing the year with yet another marvelous creation. With master perfumer, Carlos Benaïm, steering the helm, the house will launch On a Date, a new fragrance for women and men, under the Replica collection.

The concept behind the collection was to encapsulate the perfumer’s most emotionally significant moments in his life experience. On a Date continues to uphold this philosophy. It captures the atmosphere of a perfect date on a late summer evening in Provence in 2014. It is an intoxicating, sunny and fruity blend that combines ripe grapes and wild roses that will surely leave you addicted. The perfumer particularly wanted to capture the Mediterranean sunshine as it heats the vineyards for harvests.

Notes:

Top– Black Current accord, Bergamot, Pink pepper

Middle– Isparta Rose, Geranium, Davana

Base-Patchouli, Vetiver, Moss, Musk.

The composition opens with rich, sweet, textured and intense black currant liquor, which creates the aroma of grapes heated by the sun, rounded off by bergamot oil and pink pepper. Shortly, the pleasant notes of rose emerge alongside davana and geranium, followed by Patchouli. All of this combined with vetiver and musk instill a sensual feeling that takes you back to the vineyards of Provence.

On a Date is promising to be another magnum opus thanks to a smart and addictive blending of the right elements, all put together for a joyful experience that is best suited for your own personal dates. The new fragrance is available in some online retailers across Europe in 100 ml Eau de Toilette and will soon be available for wider distribution, so keep an eye out.
