The renowned British house has released a new fragrance under the name Babylonia. Babylon, one of the world’s most ancient and sophisticated civilizations, was the inspiration behind this perfume. The house promises a perfume as legendary as its namesake, a scent to capture the beauty and mystery of ancient Babylon.
It is perhaps most famous to this generation for the tale of the Tower of Babylon, a civilization that challenged God by constructing a colossal tower to reach the heavens only to be struck by the wrath of God, leaving the remains of the tower in shambles as a symbol of heavenly retribution. The name Babylonia inspires ambition, magnificence and brilliance. It is a homage to a city lost city in history shrouded in mystery.
The perfume has top notes of blackcurrant alongside fruity pink pepper, davana and bergamot, followed by middle notes of orris butter, violet leaves, bluebell and orange blossoms. The base notes include white musk, Benzoin Siam, Vanilla absolute and Praliné.
Ormonde Jayne’s Babylonia is available now in 50 ml Eau de Parfum and costs 150 sterlin at Essenza Nobile website
