“Musicology” is A brand that brings melody in the world of perfumery through its own harmony, accords and notes. A brand that puts a bundle of joy and happiness in each perfume that sure enough has the capacity to evoke memories and take us on one memorable ride. There’s a beautiful line on their official website that says “Perfume is a symphony, scent is a melody”. Truth be told, the perfumes from this brand composed by the brilliant Master Perfumer Nathalie Lorson could not be any more relatable to this beautiful statement that has nothing but the best things to offer by filling up your senses through the brand’s core and crux – Musical and Olfactory Emotions.
As we have left behind the brutal winter days, we are slowly but surely approaching towards the uplifting summer season. The season when everything looks idyllic, picturesque, lush, green, sparkly and lifelike and fit the mood we gravitate towards scent profiles that fall into the category of something fresh, zesty, floral, juicy, fruity , clean , woody and musky. Now as much as I love all the aforementioned scent profiles during summertime, I cannot deny that I am a huge white floral lover that effortlessly carry its balmy, creamy and solar facets that not only performs phenomenally but also leaves a scent trail to follow through and remember.
“Sun Goddess” as the name suggests is a luminous appearance of Jasmin Sambac and orange blossom that tickles the sensation of the wearer as it continues to infiltrate the essence of the floral elixir in the deepest of your soul.
The opening is quite solar and creamy since there’s a good dose of frangipani flowers. And the moment you apply it on your skin, you can feel all those good vibes and energy that you seek out from the solar system in this universe. The glistening sparkles of fuzzy orange blossom and dewy fresh atypical Jasmin Sambac bring forth a new dimension as the composition steers into the softer base. At this point, the florals are still simmering at a moderate temperature on your skin and radiating off a silky iridescent powdery aroma of your skin.
When the florals are much softer, the sandalwood and vanilla make a sensual warm appearance and the scent could not get any better at this stage. The captivating scent trail refuses to leave your shadow and chases you as you run towards the ocean when the Sun is just about to set. The golden hour, your sundress, your unrestrained hair, your glass half full cocktail mix, the sound of the ocean, the sand, the fresh smell of the ocean side air, the mod lights in the beach shack, the sound of the live music somewhere on the beach, everything pretty much sums up to the attitude of Sun Goddess.
On the contrary, the perfume is quite modern and has been structured in a way that it can most definitely be worn in an urban setting when you want to spend some of your most amazing summer days with your loved ones. It’s a perfume that will never go out of fashion and the DNA is sure to give you that extra dose of energy without compromising the vanity quotient of it.
Sun Goddess will always hold a special place in my heart since it’s a signed bottle by the perfumer herself and quite frankly I don’t see myself ever without it. It propounds an idea of creating memories, capturing moments and living your best summer days and nights that you can cherish forever.
The fragrance has a nod to Hermes twilly and Elie Saab Le Parfum Resort collection. So if you happen to like those fragrances, there’s no way you won’t be liking Sun Goddess.
Let me know your thoughts on this beautiful bright and sunny elixir.
