Gucci The Alchemist’s Garden A Reason to Love

The famous fragrance house of Gucci has released a new edition to add to their luxe The Alchemist’s Garden collection by the name of A Reason to Love. The premium line houses its precious perfumes in a bottle that is reminiscent of a potion, hence the tie to alchemy in the name. The release is styled in an all-black lacquered bottle with gold text and foliage designs, which is finished with a green bow. A 100ml bottle will set you back € 315 on the Gucci website, which makes this the most ambitious of the line yet outside of the perfumed oil collection.

Fragrance notes: Damascena Rose, Peony, Cardamom, Oud Accord, and Tolu Balsam.

A Reason to Love is an elixir produced by the creative mind of Master Perfumer Alberto Morillas and his vision represents the warmth of the autumn season. Sweet rose pairs with spicy cardamom that leads to a trail of a rich oud accord and balsamic ambery qualities of tolu.

The honeyed rose is a testament of the joy that one sees with the beautiful array of changing colors of the season, while cozy cardamom snuggles us like our favorite sweater. Rich oud evokes the intrigue of a golden forest ripe with deep brown hues laid barren, yet still alive and singing their melodic song of slumber. Peony offers the last glimmer of summer as it fades into a wisp with the chilly air settling in. The warmness of tolu with its spiced amber facets lends us a memory of the warm harvest season.

It appears that it is Gucci’s aim to make a fragrance that appeals to lovers of the rich and robust perfumes of the Middle East. The use of oud, cardamom, rose, with a resin are some of the signature staples of the region. The merging of east and west is a tried-and-true formula. With a name like Alberto Morillas at the helm, Gucci is really trying to tap into the iconic status of their clothing line and reinvent what a mainstream fragrance house can offer.
