Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato 33: Sweet Pistachio Love
Kayali, a house known for their sweet gourmand-leaning scents has announced another dessert-fueled rendition called Yum Pistachio Gelato. Inspired by the owner of the brand’s love for the sweet concoction, the newest perfume seeks to be an interesting take on the genre.
Perfumer Olivier Cresp, along with his son Sebastien set out to make Mona’s dreams come true, and giving her a memory to last a lifetime. Since Olivier included his son in the endeavor, it touched her as Kayali is a family business as well. She stated that she had a “fan-girl” moment over it.
The new release seeks to bring out the creamy and nutty sweetness of the Mediterranean dessert with a pistachio gelato accord soaked in rum and whipped with sweet cream. A warm embrace of hazelnut melds into a flower-laden heart of jasmine and white peony accented by juicy white peach and sweet raspberry. A creamy sweetened elixir marshmallow, vanilla, and sandalwood, with the dark essence of cacao and the luxury of pristine cedarwood.
I must admit that I have never had a pistachio gelato before, but I am a huge fan of pistachios in general, including the ice cream. That is what I am hoping this might be. I am not a huge gourmand guy, but if they truly created something different here and the character of pistachio shines through, then this could be a winner in my book.
“The fragrance begins with mouth-watering facets of hazelnut and pistachio blended with rum for a charismatic addiction. In the heart, we used the beautiful white peony for a rosy, honey-like effect and muguet to maintain the perfect balance of sweetness, freshness, and sophistication.” – Olivier Cresp, Perfumer
Top – Pistachio Gelato, Hazelnut, Rum, Green Cardamom, and Bergamot
Heart – Geranium, White Peony, Jasmine, Muguet, Raspberry, White Peach, and Pear
Base – Whipped Cream, Marshmallows, Cotton Candy, Turkish Delight Accord, Cocoa, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, and Tonka Bean
Yum Pistachio Gelato comes in an iced mint bottle that is colorful to say the least, but I like it. The bottle is the standard shape for the rest of the releases from the house, except for the white cap. The fragrance will release on March 21st, 2023, and will come in four sizes. 100ml will run $150, 50ml will set you back $105, a 10ml Deluxe will be $30, and a 10ml travel spray will be the cheapest option at $25.
